Position Title: Pastor
Organization: New Hope Missionary Baptist Church
Location: 1039 Wilson Road, Clute, Texas

Position Summary

The Pastor serves as the spiritual leader of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, providing pastoral care, leadership, and administrative oversight in accordance with biblical principles and the mission of the church. The Pastor will lead worship, preach, teach, and equip the congregation to grow in faith and service to God and the community.

Key ResponsibilitiesSpiritual Leadership

• Preach and teach the Word of God with clarity, passion, and relevance to the congregation's needs.
• Lead and oversee weekly worship services, ensuring they are spiritually enriching and Christ-centered.
• Administer ordinances such as baptism, communion, and other sacraments in line with Baptist doctrine.
• Provide spiritual counseling, guidance, and support to individuals and families within the congregation.

Pastoral Care

• Visit and minister to the sick, bereaved, and those in crisis within the church and community.
• Offer pre-marital, marital, and family counseling as needed.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that reflects the love of Christ.

Administrative Leadership

• Collaborate with church leadership, including deacons, trustees, and ministry leaders, to develop and implement the church’s vision and goals.
• Oversee the church’s administrative functions, including staff supervision, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with church policies, legal requirements, and denominational guidelines.

Community Engagement

• Represent New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in the broader community to build relationships and partnerships.
• Support and participate in local missions, evangelistic efforts, and outreach programs.
• Serve as an advocate for social justice and community development in alignment with Christian values.

Discipleship and Development

• Equip and mentor ministry leaders and volunteers to grow in their faith and effectiveness in service.
• Develop and lead Bible studies, small groups, and other discipleship programs.
• Encourage a culture of prayer, evangelism, and discipleship within the congregation.

QualificationsSpiritual and Personal Qualifications

• A born-again believer with a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
• Demonstrates a deep love for God, people, and the mission of the church.
• Adheres to and promotes Baptist doctrine and theology.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• A degree or some college is preferred.
• Ordained and licensed as a minister in the Baptist doctrine is required.
• Proven experience as a Pastor or in a related ministry role.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong communicator with the ability to preach and teach effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams.
• Skilled in conflict resolution, counseling, and fostering unity within the church.
• Proficient in administrative and organizational tasks.
