Summary of Position
The HMIS Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for all HMIS-related matters within the agency, supporting both internal staff and CoCs. This role will work closely with case managers to ensure accurate and timely data entry, regularly reviewing data and case notes to maintain high data quality standards. The HMIS Coordinator will generate reports, conduct data quality (DQ) checks, and provide insights to support grant reporting and program evaluation. Additionally, this position will collaborate with individuals and teams across NHH locations, assisting staff in understanding their roles in HMIS, running reports, and utilizing data effectively to enhance program delivery and compliance.

Essential responsibilities of the HMIS Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Data Management:
Entering client data into the HMIS system accurately and timely.
Monitoring data quality by conducting regular data checks and identifying inconsistencies.
Ensuring compliance with HMIS data standards and regulations.
Implementing data cleaning procedures to maintain data integrity.
- Reporting and Analysis:
Generating reports based on HMIS data to track trends, identify service gaps, and measure program effectiveness.
Analyzing data to inform strategic planning and decision-making for homeless service providers.
Creating customized reports for stakeholders including funders and government agencies.
- User Training and Support:
Providing comprehensive HMIS training to staff from participating agencies on data entry, system navigation, and reporting functionalities.
Addressing technical issues and providing ongoing support to HMIS users.
- Agency Coordination:
Collaborating with homeless service providers to ensure consistent data collection and reporting across the system.
Facilitating communication between agencies regarding HMIS data usage and reporting requirements.
- Policy and Procedure Development:
Contributing to the development and maintenance of HMIS policies and procedures related to data privacy, security, and access.
- Compliance Management:
Monitoring adherence to HMIS data standards and reporting requirements set by federal and local agencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of homeless service systems and issues
- Proficiency in data management and analysis software (e.g., HMIS platforms, Excel)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to train and provide technical support to users with varying levels of computer literacy
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain data accuracy
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and confidentiality standards
HMIS Coordinator Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (social work, public health, public administration, or data analysis), along with experience working with homeless service systems and proficiency in data management and analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel
