What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anticipated Vacancy- K-5 Health and Wellness Teacher position at New Hope-Solebury School District?
The New Hope-Solebury School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated K-5 Health and Wellness Teacher to join our team for the 25/26 School Year! This role will focus on designing and delivering a comprehensive health and wellness curriculum that promotes social-emotional learning, student well-being, and executive functioning. The K-5 Health and Wellness Teacher will work closely with educators and school leadership to foster a healthy school culture, align with district goals, and support the overall growth of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a K-5 Health and Wellness curriculum that integrates cross-curricular activities, research-based instructional practices, and CASEL and PA Health standards, aligning with the district's comprehensive plan and Profile of a Graduate.
- Provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction using a variety of methods, including performance assessments, project-based learning, and inquiry to guide students' learning and development in alignment with the Health and Wellness curriculum.
- Coach and collaborate with classroom teachers to tie cross curricular Health and Wellness activities into classroom instruction.
- Work in collaboration with the MTSS team on behavioral data analysis and its implication to the curriculum of the special
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning.
- Uses a rich array of instructional methods, the analysis and use of data and technology to improve instruction, and the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively.
- Develop and write the K-5 Health and Wellness curriculum in coordination with efforts in the area outlined by our comprehensive plan.
- Organize, develop, and coordinate special Health and Wellness events/activities at the elementary level.
- Collaborate with the Director of Education and Director of Student Services to respond to teacher inquiries about research-based instructional practices and/or curricular issues.
- Works directly with school administrators and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Health and Wellness initiatives and curriculum.
- Attends professional development and training related to Health and Wellness programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research.
- Other duties as assigned/requested
Qualifications include:
- K-6 or combination of PreK-4 and 4-6 Pennsylvania teaching certification OR K-12 Educational Specialist Certification for School Counseling (required)
- Classroom experience at the elementary level (preferred)
- Classroom or professional experience in the area of Health and Wellness (preferred)
- PA SEL Endorsement (preferred)
