What are the responsibilities and job description for the Talent Acquisition Specialist position at New Horizon Academy?
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, evaluate, and coordinate the hiring of qualified candidates for center vacancies.
- Work with recruitment team to market position using job boards, social media and in-house recruiting promotions.
- Be familiar with NAEYC/DHS qualifications and requirements for each position in the early education field.
- Maintain a current data base of center openings and update requisitions on a regular basis to reflect current openings.
- Work closely with District/Area managers regarding priority openings and locations.
- Assist with weekly corporate orientation and onboarding for all New Horizon Academy new hires in attendance.
- Attend college, community and in-house career fairs representing New Horizon Academy.
- Build relationships with high schools and colleges to establish a network with education teachers and potential job candidates.
- Conduct initial interviews when necessary and provide feedback to center management for hiring decision.
- Work closely with recruiting team on new marketing trends.
- Manage onboarding, including scheduling corporate orientation and conducting center orientations as required by licensing.
- Assist with HR events such as training sessions, center/corporate orientations, ABC's of ECE, etc.
- Maintain employee files and keeping them current with updated paperwork and trainings.
- Be available for occasional evening and weekend recruiting events. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Human Resources or commensurate experience as a Recruiter/Manager in the service industry, preferably Early Care and Education.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Outgoing with the ability to form strong connections and represent NHA/KBH in a positive manner.
- Strong sense of responsibility; takes pride in meeting goals.
- Working knowledge of social media outlets.
- Satisfactory background study.
- Comfortable with public speaking.

Position Overview:
As a member of our recruiting team, the Talent Acquisition Specialist position is responsible for recruiting, screening, and setting up interviews with potential new hires, as well as recruiting, hiring and managing substitute staff for two specified districts (a district is around 10 centers). There will be opportunities to work on projects; the projects could be related to new markets, employee retention or other initiatives. This position will need to be available to travel to other New Horizon Academy locations.
