Greet and direct patients and visitors to the appropriate suite, department or person.

Verify and/or update patient demographic information from patient registration forms into the electronic health record (EHR) system on a daily basis.

Add, update, and verify insurance packages based on plan description and patient eligibility.

Maintain daily patient appointment scheduling.

Retrieve medical records requests, if necessary.

Address and maintain EHR bucket responsibilities on a daily basis to include patient care summaries, no shows, ticklers, etc.
- Complete monthly no show report.
- Complete certification and recertification process for Sliding Fee Discount Program based on established criteria.
- Display math computation skills necessary for collecting payments and entering payments into the EHR system on a daily basis.
- Receive telephone calls and provide assistance as needed. Transfer calls to the appropriate department or person. Forward messages in a timely manner.

Perform end of day tasks such as time of service deposit and preparation for next day appointments.

All front desk staff are required to maintain effective communication between the front desk and clinical staff.

Notify supervisor and/or management of presence of suspicious activity observed in or around Center property.

EDUCATION:
REQUIRED:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED:
Medical Office Training Certificate or other relevant education

EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
Customer service experience.
PREFERRED:
Two (2) years experience in a medical office or other healthcare facility setting
Working knowledge of an Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Must hold all patient Protected Health Information (PHI) other patient personal information and agency information in confidence, in accordance with the attached Employee Confidentiality Statement.

Actively participate in and comply with all aspects of the NHFHS Corporate Compliance Program, follow the Program Code of Conduct and obey all relevant laws, statutes, regulations and requirements applicable to Medicaid, Medicare and other State and Federal healthcare programs.

Participates in CQI, other internal committees, special projects/observances or other activities that promote improvements in organizational performance and/or advance the mission, goals and objectives of New Horizon Family Health Services.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the practice manager, practice management director, CMO, CEO or designee in their absence.
