What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Mentor and Life Skills Coach position at New Horizon Youth and Family Services, Inc.?
New Horizon Youth and Family Services is looking to fill several full-time and part-time positions to include; Life Skill Coach/Mentor, Supervised Visitation, HBI and Family Preservation, Spanish speaking is a bonus.
We are contracted with DHS, DYS and Youth Probation. We partner with many other local providers to provide services to our at risk youth and families. We work with 4th Judicial and the schools within El Paso County addressing the truancy issues and prevention.
The right candidates will be flexible, caring, compassionate but able to set and maintain professional boundaries work well within multi-disciplinary team and sometimes stressful situations. Must be able to work as a team, have good time-management and flexible. This is not your typical 9-5 job, as we work with many young people who need mentors after school and on weekends.
In these positions the right candidate will assist with everything from basic life skills such as job search, budgeting, housing, transition and education opportunities to instructing parenting classes, groups, in home and office therapy. Each of our clients have their own set of unique needs.
Minimum of a two-year degree preferred. Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check. Competitive pay, average is $20.00 to $22.00 an hour depending on the position and experience. Looking to hire immediately due to tremendous growth.
