Compensation & Benefits:

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Sustainability Manager to join our dynamic team in the food manufacturing industry. This role will focus on advancing sustainability initiatives with a strong emphasis on environmental compliance, regulatory adherence, and the continuous reduction of environmental impacts. The Sustainability Manager will oversee energy efficiency, waste management, water conservation, and resource optimization across multiple facilities in Ohio and Indiana while ensuring full compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
This role requires a collaborative leader who will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability goals into daily operations and long-term strategic planning, ensuring our commitment to both sustainability and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives designed to reduce the environmental footprint of food manufacturing processes, focusing on compliance with environmental regulations.
- Monitor, track, and report on key environmental compliance metrics, including energy usage, water consumption, waste reduction, and carbon emissions, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to identify and execute energy-efficient practices, resource-saving strategies, and waste reduction initiatives in full compliance with environmental laws.
- Work closely with regulatory agencies, environmental consultants, and sustainability certification bodies (e.g., ISO 14001, LEED) to ensure continuous compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Drive packaging optimization and recycling programs to reduce waste, ensuring full compliance with waste disposal regulations and sustainability goals.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability and compliance training programs for facility staff to ensure understanding of environmental regulations and best practices.
- Provide leadership in achieving environmental sustainability goals, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and regulatory requirements, while driving continuous improvement in environmental performance.
- Stay informed on emerging environmental trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains a leader in both sustainability and environmental compliance.
- Prepare detailed sustainability and compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in sustainability management, environmental compliance, or a related field, ideally within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, LEED), and best practices for compliance management.
- Proven ability to lead sustainability and compliance programs that reduce environmental impact, ensure regulatory adherence, and drive operational efficiency.
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and sustainability software skills, with experience in tracking and communicating environmental performance.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and across various departments.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach to environmental challenges, demonstrating passion and leadership in sustainability and regulatory compliance efforts.
