Job Title: Operations Director
Position Overview
The Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operational functions of New Horizons Health Center, with direct supervision of the Facilities and Front Desk departments. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this role will collaborate across all levels of the organization to ensure efficient service delivery, lead quality improvement initiatives, and drive organizational growth through data-driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Department Management & Supervision
- Directly supervise the Facilities and Front Desk teams, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure that Facilities operations meet regulatory standards and that the environment supports patient and staff needs efficiently and safely.
- Oversee Front Desk operations, prioritizing customer service excellence and patient satisfaction.
- Operational Leadership & Project Management
- Lead various operational projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion within scope and budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements that drive operational excellence.
- Serve as a project manager for quality improvement initiatives, monitoring progress and maintaining accountability for deliverables.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making & Analytics
- Develop and maintain data dashboards to inform strategic planning and operational decisions.
- Leverage project management software and other analytical tools to track key performance metrics, identify trends, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
- Present data insights and recommendations to leadership, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Quality Improvement & Compliance
- Work alongside clinical and administrative leaders to design, implement, and evaluate quality improvement projects.
- Work closely with the Director of Compliance & Risk to ensure operational compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including FQHC requirements and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high-quality patient services.
- Relationship Building & Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and nurture relationships with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders to enhance collaboration.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for department managers, fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.
- Represent the organization at industry events, community meetings, and other forums, as needed.
- Strategic Planning & Innovation
- Along with the COO and leadership team work towards execution of the organization’s strategic plan, aligning operational goals with broader mission objectives.
- Stay informed about healthcare trends, new technologies, and best practices that can support operational improvements.
- Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and lead pilot projects that enhance the patient experience, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity (FQHC experience strongly preferred).
- Technical & Professional Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management and related software (e.g., Click-up, Asana, Monday.com, or similar).
- Strong analytical abilities and experience with data reporting and dashboard creation (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA cycles, Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Leadership
- Exceptional relationship-building capabilities to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
