GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within our facilities while also assisting with food preparation tasks during Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently and committed to creating a safe and pleasant dining experience for our clients.
Housekeeping Duties:
- Clean and sanitize common areas, dining facilities, and other designated areas according to established standards.
- Sweep and mop floors, and empty trash receptacles.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
Prep Cook Duties:
- Assist with meal preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals according to the Dietician’s menu and plates portion sizes according to recommendations established by the American Dietetic Assoc.
- Ensure that meals are visually appealing and meet food safety standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and cleaning of cooking utensils and equipment.
- Follows sanitation and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination
- Assist with washing dishes and kitchen cleanup tasks as needed.
- Assist with the organization and storage of kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment.
- Transports meals to the Children’s Crisis Unit, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
- Maintains a friendly and professional demeanor while interacting with clients and staff.
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of New Horizons of the Treasure Coast.
- Communicate any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor when interacting with visitors and coworkers.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in housekeeping and/or food service roles preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safe food handling practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to adhere to a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.
- Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Tolerance for exposure to kitchen-related odors and temperatures.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
