GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within our facilities while also assisting with food preparation tasks during Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently and committed to creating a safe and pleasant dining experience for our clients.
Housekeeping Duties :
Clean and sanitize common areas, dining facilities, and other designated areas according to established standards.
Sweep and mop floors, and empty trash receptacles.
Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
Prep Cook Duties :
Assist with meal preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals according to the Dietician's menu and plates portion sizes according to recommendations established by the American Dietetic Assoc.
Ensure that meals are visually appealing and meet food safety standards.
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and cleaning of cooking utensils and equipment.
Follows sanitation and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination
Assist with washing dishes and kitchen cleanup tasks as needed.
Assist with the organization and storage of kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment.
Transports meals to the Children's Crisis Unit, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
Maintains a friendly and professional demeanor while interacting with clients and staff.
General Responsibilities :
Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of New Horizons of the Treasure Coast.
Communicate any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor when interacting with visitors and coworkers.
Requirements
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in housekeeping and / or food service roles preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safe food handling practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to adhere to a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements :
The ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.
Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
Tolerance for exposure to kitchen-related odors and temperatures.
Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
