What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tender Leader position at New Hudson Facades LLC?
Tender Leader position that works directly with the preconstruction manager, engineering, production, and operations in determining scope and pricing for curtainwall projects.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Prepares a complete quantity survey for specific project scope.
- Prepares a complete and accurate cost estimate for the project scope.
- Analyzes all project bid documents to understand and communicate the project scope, schedule and general requirements to the engineering, production and operations teams.
- Reviews all proposal documents for compliance with the bidding documents.
- Obtains labor rates, tax rates, transportation expenses, duty rates and any other cost information as required for the preparation of the cost estimate.
- Meets required deadlines for proposals.
- Prepare vendor RFQ’s as required for the solicitation of quotations as required for the preparation of the cost estimate.
- Reviews vendor quotations for accuracy, completeness and conformity with the bid documents.
- Update vendors with plans, specifications and addenda.
- Prepares scope drawings to communicate to clients and vendors the proper scope.
- Prepares pricing, proposals, unit prices, and other breakdowns as required.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and production for project specific feedback.
- Prepares a complete list of inclusions, clarifications and exclusions to be submitted with the bid.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with vendors.
- Participate in project turnover and setup.
- Assist engineering, operations and production teams with post-award takeoffs, buyouts and addenda pricing.
- Participate in project completion budget reviews.
- Develop and strengthen customer relations through networking and occasional social events.
- Assists with training new estimators.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents including drawings, specifications and bid instructions.
- Strong general computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam Revu, ACAD, Navisworks, and Revit .
- Strong spatial aptitude.
- Strong independent worth ethic and organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to sit, work, collaborate on a computer as needed for project work.
- Ability to stand for periods of time as needed for project work.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- 4 years experience in curtainwall project management and/or estimating.
- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Estimating, Construction Management, Accounting or Engineering.

- Salary Range: $110K- $180K, based on departmental budget, qualifications, experience, education, and licenses. This range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
