The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (“Board” or “BPU”) seeks an established executive to lead our highly effective and collaborative team in the provision of safe, adequate and proper utility services to all members of the state.
Utilize your knowledge and expertise to manage the day-to-day operations of revenue and rates matters within the Division while developing reports on federal legislation that may impact BPU policies to present to Commissions, state executive and legislative representatives and members of the State’s congressional delegation.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Manage staff in the financial analysis and rate regulation of utilities that provide electric, natural gas, water and wastewater services
* Oversee regulatory matters concerning rates for service, tariff design, plan evaluation, demand and growth projections and electric, gas and water resource acquisition programs
* Coordinate energy program design and implementation and policy analysis
* Review policy initiatives aimed at increasing competition in the State’s energy and water utilities
* Assist in the development of the State’s Energy Master Plan
* Participate and advise on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission proceedings that affect New Jersey
* Develop policy recommendations on regulatory matters concerning rates for service, tariff designing, plan evaluation, demand and growth projections, and cost recovery of clean energy initiatives
* Testify in formal proceedings related to rate and regulatory matters
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Engineering, Economics or related field
* 5 – 7 years of operational and management experience within a utility regulatory setting, public utility commission, regional transmission operator, consumer advocate or related area
* Background performing accounting, rates and regulatory work involving revenue requirements and rate setting
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
* Strategic thinker with advanced analytical, judgment and decision-making abilities
* Advanced degree in Business, Management, Administration or related area preferred
Salary: $145,000 – $150,000
