New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) is a multi-faceted community development and social service agency providing housing and social services to 4,000 children and families daily in the city of Paterson. We are searching for a Community Outreach Worker to inform local residents about a neighborhood-based initiative to remove lead paint from 100 homes. The position requires the ability to develop and implement a campaign to inform landlords and residents about the program and to assist them in completing required paperwork. The ability to attend community meetings, knock on doors, and interact with neighborhood residents during non-traditional hours is important.
The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in performing community outreach functions or otherwise being involved in public-facing roles. The ability to interact with individuals of different backgrounds is important, as well as properly completing paperwork and maintaining program records. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
