SALARY: The salary range for this position is $57,644.00 to $93,495.46 for Schedule A, and $57,644.00 to $88,820.70 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. The Ocean Vicinage Finance Division is seeking a self-directed, individual with excellent analytical and written and oral communication skills who is organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to manage daily and monthly deadlines. Under the direction of the Finance Division Manager and Finance Division supervisor, this individual will analyze bank statements and financial transactions; enter items as debits and credits; reconcile bank accounts; collect or maintain financial data to generate reports; monitor, screen and prepare disbursements/refunds and deposit data; prepare and enter accounting entries into the financial system; explain judiciary policies and procedures; and provide quality customer service to court users or internal customers. This individual will assemble materials and collect data to generate reports; establish and/or maintain record keeping tracking systems and various spreadsheets; tabulate accounting, fixed asset, financial or statistical data; monitor, screen and prepare documents for system entry; check written reports for completeness and accuracy; verify data against source documents; assist with writing any user documents for the unit and compose routine correspondence as necessary. The individual may also perform other related duties as required including preparing cash and check deposits. The successful candidate will be expected to show attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness, be committed to quality and excellence, and find the root cause of problems. Additionally, they will recommend improvements in operating procedures and work processes, suggest improvements in work unit operations, and follow through on improvements and commitments made to others. They will be expected to participate in team or work unit meetings; provide cross training to coworkers. Individual will participate on internal or external committees; attend and participate in meetings outside the work unit or team. Additionally, individual must be able to work in a team environment. Proficiency in Excel and Access preferred.
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education, but do possess the 21 accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, and/or finance credit hours, including 12 accounting credit hours, may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
