The Communications and Development Director role is a new position developed to support our 2030 strategic goals of increasing NJFPL’s presence and voice in the statewide landscape for reproductive health and abortion care. The Communications and Development Director is a member of the NJFPL’s leadership team and reports directly to the President & CEO. This role will work closely with the President & CEO, VP of Programs, and VP of Finance to develop and implement an external communications and marketing strategies to amplify NJFPL’s voice in the arena of family planning and abortion care access, as well as provide messaging support for policy and advocacy.
Essential Functions :
Communications and Marketing
- Develop and implement an engaging and compelling external communications and marketing strategy to raise awareness of NJFPL’s mission and impact in the State of New Jersey and regionally.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the communications and marketing strategy by setting priorities, metrics, and monitoring outcomes.
- Manage existing communications and marketing vendor relationships including contract and budget management.
- Maintain brand standards and establish style and voice for NJFPL across all organizational communications.
- Develop messaging, talking points to support NJFPL’s goals and objectives, as well as support staff, board, and surrogates in delivering effective messaging on behalf of the organization.
- Manage all aspects of external digital communications, including social media, website, and establishing an external email communications program.
- Coordinate earned media and reporter engagement.
- Support advocacy efforts at the state and national level with effective and timely messaging.

Status : Full-time, Exempt
Salary Range : $105,000 – $120,000, depending on experience
Reports to : President & CEO
