Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented In-House Associate Counsel to join our team in Trenton, New Jersey. The successful candidate will provide legal guidance and support to ensure that our members remain in compliance with state laws and regulations. This role is critical in protecting the integrity of the real estate profession while serving as a trusted legal resource for our organization. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, currently allowing for two days of remote work per week which is subject to change at any time; it is not a fully remote position. Limited travel may be required.
Primary Duties :
- Provide legal advice and guidance on state laws and regulations affecting the real estate industry.
- Monitor legal developments affecting real property, fair housing and business practices, and communicate updates to members and staff.
- Develop and implement compliance programs to assist members in adhering to legal requirements.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating proprietary real estate contracts for members’ use, policies, and other legal documents.
- Represent the organization in interactions with state regulatory agencies, as necessary.
- Respond to inquiries on legal and compliance issues.
