Position: Engagement and Events Specialist
Part-time/Full-Time: Full-Time

Summary
Reporting to the Advancement Director, the Engagement and Events Specialist plays a vital role in expanding the organization’s social media presence and delivering impactful events. This dual-function role requires a creative, organized individual with a keen attention to detail and strong teamwork skills. The Specialist will support the Mission by planning, managing, and executing events and projects that connect the community to our cause. Additionally, this role involves sharing compelling social media content to raise awareness and financial support for the Mission and those we serve. Essential qualifications include experience in event planning and marketing, proficiency with digital marketing tools, and a passion for storytelling, creating memorable, community-centered experiences, and sharing the love of Jesus.
Essential Responsibilities
Essential Function 1: Event Planning and Management
- Coordinate all aspects of Mission-related events, including logistics, budgets, timelines, and vendor management (negotiate contracts for space, food, supplies, event production, etc.)
- Work closely with the Advancement Director and other key stakeholders to ensure events align with the Mission's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with the Creative Manager to ensure successful marketing and communication strategies are in place for successful event execution.
- Facilitate post-event evaluations to assess effectiveness and gather feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of event budgets, attendance, and feedback.
Essential Function 2: Social Media Management
- Work closely with the Advancement Director to develop and implement social media strategies to enhance engagement and promote events.
- Partner with the Creative Manager to create visually appealing and informative posts, graphics, videos, and stories that align with the brand's voice and objectives.
- Use social media management tools to plan and schedule content for optimal reach and consistency across various platforms and channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Interact with followers, respond to comments and messages, and build a sense of community by encouraging discussion and connection.
- Track and report engagement metrics, monitor growth and use insights to refine strategies and demonstrate social media’s impact on awareness and support.
Essential Function 3: Community Engagement and Other
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, sponsors, and volunteers.
- Serve as a representative of New Life Center at events and community gatherings, promoting awareness and support for the organization.
- Oversee and fulfill in-kind donation requirements, while actively promoting specific needs to the community.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support the overall mission.
Position Reports to Andrea Feigum, Advancement Director
Andrea Feigum leads New Life Center's fundraising, marketing, and community engagement efforts. Andrea has more than 15 years of experience working in marketing, public relations, and corporate communications. After spending some time in nursing, she transitioned to marketing and never looked back. Andrea joined New Life Center in 2021. Before that, she worked at Dakota Medical Foundation.

Education and Experience
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing, or related field.
- At least 2 years of related professional and event management experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of creating social media and marketing content.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media platforms and content creation tools.
- Knowledge of event coordination and marketing principles, strategies, and tactics.
- Capability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and other cloud-based software applications.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
