Reports to: Director of Life Safety
Status: Part-Time | Hourly
Schedule: Flexible | maximum of 10 hours per week.

Job Summary |
To serve New Life Church by providing support to the Director of Life Safety and helping to maintain the security of the church.
Duties and Responsibilities |
- Responds to incidents, emergencies, and other concerns during assigned hours.
- Initiates appropriate responses towards threats or acts of violence and all Law Enforcement incidents.
- Provides security support for incidents, activities, and events as assigned.
- Conducts regular security patrols and provides Director with written findings and recommendations.
- Assists in raising crime prevention awareness of staff towards the protection of Church assets.
- Follows local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to security processes.
- Works with all staff to raise security awareness.
- Completes all required Life Safety Training.
- Attend department meetings, all-staff meetings and other meetings as required.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of the New Life Church employee policies and procedures as well as the workflow of the department.
- Demonstrate ongoing financial support for ministries of New Life Church.
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build a strong team environment.
- Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Education and Experience |
Education: 2 years of college (or experience) in security operations, law enforcement.
Experience: Any combination of a minimum of 2 years experience in the areas of law enforcement, military or private security.
Working Conditions and Requirements |
Physical Demands:
- Meets all requirements to receive an El Paso County Concealed Weapons Permit.
- Demonstrates ability to safely, appropriately, and effectively use a firearm in emergency situations.
- Evidence of spiritual maturity, showing a consistent walk with Jesus Christ.
- Effective organizational, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work in difficult and at times, hazardous situations.
- Maintains discretion and confidentiality as related to job information.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, volunteers and NLC Members.
- Sensitivity towards and the ability to work effectively within a faith-based community.
- Ability to intervene and diffuse threatening and confrontational situations.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state and local statutes related to security and safety.
