New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve.

The Worship Leader The Worship Leader is an essential role for the ministry of New Life Church. The worship leaders role is to lead with excellence on weekends both musically and spiritually - including preparation, thought, and intention given to each weekend service and event.

• Lead worship primarily at New Life North and Friday Night. Able to hold the Worship Leader 1 position. This means planning worship sets that align with New Life values as well as being able to communicate all necessary musical elements to the Music Director.
• Able to hold large rooms as a leader, intuiting the emotional temperature and leading the group with clarity and pastoral authority.
• Able to speak clearly in large room with the same clarity and care as a preacher.
• Plan services when WL1 and interface with the Senior Pastor as needed.
• Available to lead at other congregations as requested.
• Lead at all special services at NLN (Good Friday/Easter, Ash Wednesday, Christmas Eve, etc)
• Committed to making NLN their local church community.
• Attend all required Worship Department meetings.
• Participate in any NLW staff retreats, and staff events.
• Lead at First Wednesdays as requested.
• Participate in New Life Worship events and recordings as requested
• Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
• Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
• Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
• Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
• Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate ongoing financial support for ministries of New Life Church.
• Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
• Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

• Proven strong gifts/anointing in leading worship. This includes musical gifting, but with a high emphasis on the ability to lead and hold a large room pastorally.
• Proven strong vocal performance ability.
• Proficiency at one instrument. Strong musician preferred.
• Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks and to complete projects with little guidance.
• Skilled at developing life-giving rapport with paid staff, team members and guests.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately at all levels.
• Able to work well under pressure and time constraints, utilizing multi-tasking skills and assessment of the priority of the moment in an environment of changing priorities and demands.

Experience: 5 years of experience as a worship leader.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Close visual acuity is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
