We are currently seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to provide mental health counseling services to our patients with co-occurring mental health disorders.  This position, reporting to the Clinic Supervisor, is part-time, working two days a week (or full-time is possible), and is an excellent opportunity for someone excited to make an immediate and lasting impact in a growing company. 

 

Position Overview:

 

As a Clinician/Therapist at New Life Clinic, you will work with a team that is on your side and who knows that you are on theirs. You will work in an environment where everyone understands their role is to help and to jump into new challenges so that patients receive the best evidence-based care possible. Helping patients build a “new life” will be something that you can take pride in, as your work with them creates a ripple effect in their families and in our community.

 

We are looking for a Clinician/Therapist who is interested in serving patients with chemical dependency from multicultural populations. The ideal candidate will be patient, humble, and determined, along with demonstrating agility, optimism, organization, and empathy in their work. Primary Duties

  • Provide mental health counseling services to individuals with substance use disorder.
  • Provide regular feedback regarding client progress to third-party monitors.
  • Handle phone inquiries from community members requesting information about outpatient chemical dependency treatment.
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate progress notes and patient records on personal caseload.
  • Evaluate and assess potential patients for appropriateness for outpatient treatment.
  • Schedule appointments for individual patients.
  • Participate in contacting community referral sources and disseminating information about outpatient chemical dependency treatment and the neurobehavioral model.
  • Do diverse tasks as requested by Clinic Supervisor.
  • Attend regular training sessions and other events as required.
  • Do whatever is necessary to maintain a successful, professional, and effective clinic site.
  • Adhere to personnel policies and clinical protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

         

  • Graduate level, behavioral health degree.  
  • Must be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Prior training in counseling or substance use disorder treatment preferred but not required.
  • History of performing in a professional capacity.
  • Willing to follow New Life Clinic personnel policies.
  • Able to work the hours and days required by position, including daily 5:30 am start times.
  • Ability to provide health and TB clearance.

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials used in performing the essential functions of the classification, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be asked to perform repetitive behaviors (e.g., typing and data entry). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (think boxes of paper). Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person, by telephone. While performing the duties of this classification, the employee works in an office setting where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must also analyze and evaluate situations and adopt effective courses of action.
