New Mexico Oncology Hematology Consultants Ltd. is seeking a caring, compassionate, and patient orientated Patient Navigation/Outreach Assistant.
We are, a freestanding, physician-owned, comprehensive cancer center based in Albuquerque, NM with a satellite clinic in Gallup, New Mexico. We are an Oncology Medical Home, with a focus on early intervention for patient symptoms, resulting in low hospitalization rates. Our Physicians have won Top 10 Docs in the city of Albuquerque multiple times.
As a successful Medical oncology and Radiation oncology practice, we have expanded our medical practice to include Survivorship, Palliative care, Primary Care, Rheumatology, Pulmonary, Urology, Surgical ENT, General Surgery and Neurology.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is a remote position, however, candidate must live in the State of New Mexico.
The Insurance Verification Representative is responsible for ensuring that all scheduled patients’ insurance has been verified prior to their appointment. This position is also responsible for any errors that are found in obtaining an insurance verification and resolving any missing information (if possible). The Insurance Verification Representative supports the company’s overall mission, vision while demonstrating and adhering to the core values in performing these duties timely and efficiently.

Essential Functions Statement(s):
- Verifies all insurance through the appropriate means on every scheduled patient.
- Addresses any errors found while verifying the patients insurance prior to the appointment if applicable.
- Completes all insurance verifications for patients on the new patient tracking log.
- Resolves issues concerning missing vital information from patients scanned requisition record.
- Ensures timely processing of benefit information and seek assistance from management when necessary.
- Contacts patients as necessary to obtain insurance information.
- Is the point person for all deceased patient accounts and notify the appropriate individuals.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Two - Four years related experience.
- Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 codes.
- Experience working with and Knowledge of Insurance Eligibility requirements
- Experience working with and ability to understand the billing specialties involved (Chemo, Radiation Oncology, Rheumatology, Radiology, etc.)
Computer Skills:
Intermediate Computer Skills (Microsoft Office Word and Excel), Centricity, Insurance Websites
