POSITION SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential Functions Statement(s):
- Initiates contact with referring physician and associated physician offices via telephone to request records.
- Faxes all requests with authorizations as required for requested records.
- Reviews all medical reports received to ensure records are complete and ensures no missing documents.
- Receives all records via scanned images, scanned paper records, CD, or patient hand-delivered.
- Maintains records and organizes them for NMCC providers as outlined in the diagnosis.
- Scans all required records prior to new patient visit to NMCC.
- Researches and obtains information for all new patients including but not limited to all required test results, correspondence, dictation and outside records by contacting outside facilities.
- Periodically checks for the receipt of requested information.
- Prepares the new patient’s electronic medical record with information obtained by scanning all pertinent medical information obtained.
- Responds to questions or requests for charts and missing test results.
- Responds to “Tasks” assigned in EMR.
- Assists with Record retrieval.
- Assists with New Patient Chart Prep

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Two years of medical office “clinical” experience
- Medical Assistance experience preferred
- Must possess excellent time-management skills and be able to prioritize accordingly. Must be multi-task oriented and well organized, with an attention to detail in a fast paced setting.
Computer Skills:
Intermediate computer skills, Microsoft Office, EMR and related software
