Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position within the ADSB team in the Information Technology Services Division will be to serve as the Application Developer for the New Mexico Department of Health.
How does it get done?
This position will be responsible for operations, maintenance, support, planning, programming, and troubleshooting of our applications and development of custom applications.
The applicant Independently will need to perform the most complex assignments often requiring the development of new or improved applications, processes, or techniques. Contribute to all phases of a project, including systems analysis, program design, development, and implementation. Serve as a liaison between client partners, IT, project managers, and other stakeholders in planning and building software solutions.
This position will work directly with, and will need to communicate effectively with, DOH Program partners, external Program partners, ITSD staff and Leadership, DOH management, and other technical staff at the Department of Information Technology (DoIT). This position requires the ability to perform and accomplish job requirements with minimal direction and/or supervision; the ability to work successfully in a team environment; and the ability to apply industry best practices.

Ideal Candidate
- Experience with Windows Platform, Front End GUI Development .NET, SQL, C#, PowerShell, Java, JavaScript, and Python.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and four (4) years of experience in software programming. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Reference check and Driver's License verification are also required, and employment is conditional pending results. Some travel maybe required.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Travel statewide is required.
