Why does the job exist?
Incumbent will provide secretarial/receptionist support to the Community Base Services (CBS) division which includes obtaining and verifying insurance coverage and financial information each time a client presents for a scheduled appointment, assisting with scheduling of appointments, answering incoming calls, and other duties as assigned.
How does it get done?
Incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to create computer generated scheduling for approximately 15 clinicians, coding services and data entry ensuring that all services are correctly entered. Crisis notes which are the clinical written documents that are produced by clinicians in the provision of a 24-hour, billable service that are entered into AVATAR for reimbursement. Obtain/verify insurance coverage and financial information for all individuals presenting for services daily and make copies of insurance cards. Answer telephones, provide information and relay messages to staff; direct to requested staff; report any equipment or facility maintenance problems to appropriate facility divisions.

Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidate will have:
Experience working in a office setting;
Experience working with Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook;
Experience working with insurances and insurance coverage;
Experience doing clerical duties.
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) months experience in office administration and/or customer service. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) months may substitute for the required experience.

Working Conditions
This position will perform work in a hospital and office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Exposure to mentally and behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable and sometimes violent behaviors in volatile situations required. Effective 01/01/2015, New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/ E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus. Department is Community Base Services. Work hours are 8 am to 5 pm.
