Set up and maintain assigned accounts and / or programs. Prepare, analyze and monitor financial statements as needed and required by the program or fund. Prepare and support schedules for various assigned accounts and / or programs. Prepare monthly bank statements, investment statement and other account reconciliations as required. May also assist with related special projects and provide general office support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Accurately record / review all transactions for all assigned programs.
- Prepare financial reports and variance analysis by the monthly deadline for all assigned programs.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and program variances for assigned programs.
- Accurately prepare and review reconciliations for assigned accounts. Research and identify corrections to clear reconciling items. Review assigned monthly reconciliations and update Recon-Checklist.
- Set up, maintain and monitor assigned program.
- Prepare assigned audit schedules by specified deadlines.
- Prepare and review reports as required.
- Assist in annual budget preparation as assigned.
- Analyze data and communicate results of analysis.
- Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
- Interacts with MFA Staff, Auditors, trustees and funding source personnel
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred. Seven years accounting experience or two years in current position at MFA. A minimum of ten years’ progressive experience will be considered in lieu of education.
