Classification Summary:
Under limited supervision, administers multiple enterprise systems which have a university wide critical impact to core operational infrastructure. Sets strategic direction, and recommends institutional policy for enterprise information technology. Works with internal departments/units to identify opportunities to improve and refine services to meet their needs. Participates in the investigation, selection, and operation of information systems.
Classification Standard Duties:
Directs departmental operations and supervises employees directly and through lower level managers and supervisors. Participates in development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short- and long-range planning; develops tracking and evaluation programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals. Develops and establishes policies and objectives consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient operation of individual departments. Consults and coordinates with university officials on matters of policy, interdivisional interaction, and capital improvement issues. Collaborates with departments and administration to establish goals and priorities for technology solutions to meet institutional needs. Develops and manages annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.Develops and administers budgets and plans for technology development and deployment at the institution. Recommends and participates in the development of University policies and procedures; may serve on University planning and policy-making committees. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Enterprise Business Application Services is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, implementation, and management of all of NMSU’s application wide systems, including business critical enterprise applications such as ERP, Human Resources, CRM, Financial, Education, Facilities, Financial Aid, Marketing, Police, Student and all normal applications that are essential to the operation of the NMSU system. This role ensures the alignment between technology solutions and business objectives, while fostering innovation and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing Level 3 & 4 application support, keeping the enterprise application suite current with all versions, releases and patches supporting NMSU’s Zero Trust Security implementation. Additionally, the Enterprise Business Application Services team will also be accountable for scoping, requirements capture, design, development and testing of all application enhancements within the Application Services domain. The Enterprise Business Application Services team will also be responsible for the removal of all technical debt including application remediation, capacity planning of cloud and on-premise application servers, performing housekeeping of their environment's platforms and data stores, documentation which includes contributing to the upkeep of IT’s Knowledge base. The Director of Enterprise Business Application Services will also be required to establish and nurture business relationships across the NMSU system.
Human Resource management will be another key responsibility for the Director of this team including Performance Management, keeping the team skilled up by earning training certifications in areas that are important to the individual’s career path and consistent with the IT direction. In addition to the core responsibilities, the employee may be asked to perform other tasks or duties as required by the organization, consistent with the employee's capabilities and in line with organizational needs.
