Summary: AggieVision (Special Production Unit) at New Mexico State University is looking for a Supervisor, TV Production who will provide broadcast engineering support during live NMSU Athletic events. We are located in beautiful Las Cruces, NM with over 300 days of sunshine annually. Classification Summary:
Provides a variety of technical support services for in-studio and remote field television productions, special projects, and station outreach activities. Functions as floor director on assigned projects. Transports, sets up, and operates a variety of television equipment; assists with editing of material; assists with staging, set preparation and dressing; and assists in studio and equipment maintenance.
Classification Standard Duties:
Transports, sets up, and operates various television production equipment including cameras, camera control units, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio television production. Moves and sets lights as required, ensuring proper light levels and conformance to lighting plans. Prepares studio with requested equipment and sets for meetings, teleconferences, special events, and studio tours. Operates and maintains proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio and video recorders, video and audio switchers, teleprompters, and other production equipment. Operates audio boards, tape machines, and microphones to ensure proper audio levels and sound quality. Functions as floor director, properly coordinating equipment and personnel to achieve desired production results. Maintains productions schedules and records. Completes trouble and preventive maintenance reports on video and audio production equipment; assists in repair and upkeep of studio and production sets and properties. Leads and guides the work of interns, volunteers, and work studies. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education:Bachelor's degree in a related field.; Required Experience:One (1) year of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.; Equivalency:Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services.; Required Certification/License:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of studio lighting and sound procedures and requirements.; SKILLS:Records maintenance skills.; ABILITIES:Ability to set up and operate television cameras, camera control units, and ancillary production equipment. Ability to effectively manage time and schedules. Ability to arrange and configure studio facilities and equipment. Ability to calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain audiovisual and related production equipment. Ability to lead and train staff and/or students. Ability to coordinate staging and production personnel for studio and/or locational programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, broadcast engineering during live athletic events, equipment repairs and maintenance, shooting, writing and editing production pieces that will be used during live events.
