What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Operations Assistant position at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival?
TIME FRAME : This is a short term, seasonal position.
March 24 - May 16, 2025
POSITION SUMMARY :
Primary duties include providing logistical support to the Site Department and the Site Director during pre-production, the event, and post-production through load-out. This position will work closely with the entire Site department as a liaison to funnel information and assist in accommodating the operation's needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Assist the Site Director with the layout of the site.
- Provide direction for the installation of small tents, vendor escorting, and act as a general point of contact when needed.
- Work within the festival database to ensure timelines are met, work orders are completed, and the production schedule is kept up to date.
- Assist the festival's restroom vendor with placement, daily sanitation, and serve as a general point of contact between the festival and the vendor.
- Direct the table and chair company on the delivery of tables and chairs to the dorm (festival offices).
- Pick up various items from vendors as needed, such as paints, flags, and water.
- Collaborate with various crews to learn the ins and outs of site development as time allows.
- Document changes to the site for recap purposes.
- Review site requests to ensure completion.
- Provide support to the Construction Secretary by covering phones, procuring supplies, and assisting crew members and Site Supervisors.
