What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Assistant position at New Orleans Public Facility Mngt, Inc.?
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepare, deliver, and retrieve tools, equipment, materials, and supplies throughout the facility for event setups and other operational needs.
- Ensure requests are accurately fulfilled in an efficient manner to ensure timely delivery as dictated by maintenance and show schedules.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning tools or equipment to the Event Operations Manager.
- Provide support with routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs as directed.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of all designated storage units, tools, materials, supplies, and warehouse areas.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate records for materials, supplies, equipment, and tools in accordance with MCCNO guidelines.
- Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies or low stock levels to the Event Operations Manager.
- Ensure tools and materials are properly labeled, stored, and ready for use.
Follow established procedures for inventory management, equipment distribution, operation, and maintenance to ensure the division operates efficiently, effectively, and safely.
- Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment in compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Support Event Operations staff in adhering to safety protocols when transporting and using materials and equipment.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed.
Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and perform under minimal supervision.
Ability to comply and follow detailed instructions in order to ensure a safe and effective workplace.
Other Qualifications
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
Familiarity with use of basic hand tools.
Experience
Preferred- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical school background or apprenticeship program preferred. One to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
