Material Sourcing Specialist/International Project Manager
The Material Sourcing Specialist / International Project will report directly to the Director of Procurement and have dotted line reporting to the VP of International and is an individual contributor who provides functional procurement leadership while managing technical supplier relationships and hands-on purchasing of inventory for resale. This position also executes the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for material procurement and supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- Build new and lead existing relationships with key suppliers to cultivate a shared understanding of New Pig requirements around cost, quality, and delivery
- Lead the negotiation of supply agreements to achieve a robust and competitive supply chain along with strong supplier partnerships
- Competitively quote new or existing product for resale as needed to ensure consistent pricing and supply
- Measure and communicate supplier performance via KPI’s
- Manage or assist in the ordering and receipt of imported product accounting for supply chain complexities and lead-times
- Manage Inventory and ordering of product for resale to maximize customer fill rate
- Manage or advise in the ordering and forecasting of product purchased for resale
- Work with freight companies for shipping or delivery of goods while ensuring best pricing and service as required
- Work with New Pig Product Development (PD) team to identify potential product suppliers, specifications, packaging and pricing
- Work with and assist PD during the testing and evaluation stage of product development or other product testing needs
- Effectively use financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure supply chain performance for potential cost reduction and/or service improvement
- Communicate with Senior Management on short-term and long-term objectives. Provide and distribute regular information (reports, verbal communication, dashboards, etc.) to communicate operational results, trends and costs.
- Provide guidance to the buyers on ordering decisions
- Support the development, implementation and improvement of systems used in procurement
- Contribute to a positive work environment that supports the New Pig culture

- Lead projects to bring new products to market and manage all issues that impact development
- Visit with end-users and internal stakeholders to gather first-hand insights around pain points and jobs to be done; inform existing projects and surface new opportunities from insights
- Design and develop user-centered product solutions through coordination and integration with product development teams
- Identify and collaborate with external partners to leverage their design and technology expertise
- Understand the competitive landscape to establish a positive differentiated position
- Establish product performance requirements, quality specifications, product positioning, marketing content, and market pricing and cost targets
- Lead and support cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing and manufacturing
- Build physical prototypes to validate designs and test functionality
- Champion new program concepts to build organizational support through presentations that communicate design intent and product performance requirements and ensure adherence to insights as the project evolves
- Coordinate with development team during domestic product development to customize products for international market needs
- Integrate with development team to have visibility on new offerings while ensuring compliance with international regulations
- Serve as the liaison between domestic assets and international needs for all international subsidiaries
- Understand and apply international regulatory guidance and compliance as it applies to products, logistics and business operations
- Align international product needs with domestic and international sourcing requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain or related fields or equivalent experience
- Procurement experience with injection, roto or blow molding
- Procurement experience with metal fabrication
- 5 to 7 years of increasingly responsible management roles in Purchasing or Supply Chain
- Excellent mathematical, statistical, analytical skills
- Competency/efficiency with software/programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Pro-active problem solver – identifying, analyzing, and developing solutions to problems
- Strong leadership and team building skills, excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong work ethic, characterized by initiative, drive and goal orientation
- Experience with MRP, ERP, DRP or other business systems
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
