Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform and follow preventive maintenance procedures on electrical and mechanical systems in manufacturing equipment.
- Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of equipment, identifying potential issues, and reporting findings to the Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems in processing equipment. Perform necessary repairs or disassemble/reassemble machinery to resolve issues.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Assist in identifying and solving technical problems related to electrical and mechanical systems.
- Inventory Management: Monitor parts and supplies inventory for maintenance needs and report any deficiencies to the Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager.
- Training & Development: Participate in training sessions to upgrade technical skills, with a focus on electrical systems and equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety rules and work instructions while ensuring that all team members do the same. Maintain a safe work environment during repairs and maintenance.
- Clean Work Area: Ensure work areas are kept clean, especially after completing repairs or maintenance activities.
- Assist Staff: Provide support to other maintenance staff as required to ensure smooth operation of the facility and the timely completion of repairs.
- Assist in the training of new maintenance staff or others in the department.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
- Ensure the safe operation of equipment and the general cleanliness of the maintenance area.
- Actively contribute to maintaining the company’s reputation for quality by performing duties accurately and efficiently.
- Electrical Systems Knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in equipment, including motor control circuits, PLCs, and other electrical components.
- Mechanical Systems Knowledge: Proficient in repairing and maintaining mechanical systems, including motors, hydraulics, and pneumatic components.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Able to read and understand machine blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Precision Measurement: Use tools like tape measures, micrometers, and bar mics to ensure accurate repairs and adjustments.
- Equipment Operation: Capable of operating forklifts, jib cranes, and other equipment used in the manufacturing process.
- Safety Standards: Strong knowledge of industrial safety procedures and practices, particularly in electrical maintenance.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Proven ability to identify mechanical and electrical issues and take prompt corrective actions.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician with electrical experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with various types of industrial machinery, including processing equipment and heavy-duty machines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with other team members and departments.
- Flexibility to work including overtime and weekends, as needed.
