Certificate and/or associate's degree - Medical Billing and Coding - Required
Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
Master's Degree - Preferred
Experience
In addition to the knowledge/education, the following related work experience is typically required for this position. An equivalent combination of education and recent, related experience may be acceptable.
Certification - Current Medical Billing and Coding Certification - Required
5 years - Medical Billing Coding and Experience - Required
2 Years - Teaching Experience Or Equivalent - Preferred
2 years - Demonstrated experience using LMS, Brightspace or similar technology - Preferred

Summary of Core Responsibilities:
- Possess thorough and accurate knowledge in field/discipline of Medical Billing and Coding.
- Develop instructional materials; plan and organize instruction to enhance student learning; prepare the syllabi; and teach classes in a way that encourages student learning.
- Meet classes as scheduled.
- Be accessible to students through e-mail, phone, or scheduled office hours or at other times.
- Evaluate student work and maintain accurate records of students academic standing.
- Provide students constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback in a timely manner.
- Respect the confidentiality of student information; refrain from discussing or releasing such information except within recognized limits.
- Demonstrate integrity and positive interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fulfill all expectations of adjunct faculty.
- Should be able to teach via Zoom, IVN, online, or in class and use the WebAssign portal
- Be able to teach one or more of the following courses: Health Information Technology and other related Health Information Technology courses.
- Should communicate and collaborate with other faculty, mentor or department chair; use common assessment tracking questions for the final assessment and report the tracking results on time to the faculty in charge.
- Complete course assessments and turn in to department time accurately and timely.
- If possible, join the department meetings and participate in the college activities.
- Provide the end of the semester evaluation for students
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical area of expertise.
- Well versed in current teaching trends, techniques, resources, and technology for both onsite and virtual learning, as necessary.
