Position Summary
New River Electrical is seeking a skilled Estimator to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to the company's success, and advance their career in a dynamic and growing environment.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Review project plans and specifications, confirming complete scope.
- Participate in customer meetings and site visits to understand project requirements and site challenges.
- Identify risk issues and their order of magnitude.
- Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier information and pricing.
- Meet estimating deadlines independently.
- Perform detailed takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment required for electrical construction projects.
- Manage bid information flow between customers, contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and operations employees.
- Create and transmit scope letters and quotations.
- Follow up with customers on proposals.
- Support project managers with submittals during the pre-construction phase.
- Assist other estimators and project managers on large project estimates.
- Create project schedules to define construction workflow and deadlines.
- Prepare accurate and professional bid proposals and supporting documentation.
- Travel may be required for off-site meetings or business matters.

Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of commercial, industrial, and renewable electrical estimating experience or relevant experience.
- Industrial and Renewable construction experience preferred.
- Proficiency with pre-packaged estimating software and materials/equipment take-off process.
- Ability to perform conceptual estimates based on specifications.
- Strong mathematical, communication, and computer skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and Excel.
- Ability to compose complex proposals, technical documents, and formal letters.
- Ability to make presentations to diverse groups and communicate with clients, engineers, and internal operations.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus, and Unit contract pricing mechanisms.
- Knowledgeable of the electrical trade, general construction, and National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to perform NEC calculations and understand construction drawings and contract documents.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work on multiple estimates simultaneously.
