What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Responsive Technology Partners Inc.?
We are looking to hire an Estimator in our Roanoke, Virginia office. This individual will work with engineers, cable technicians, and sales teams across our Virginia and North Carolina markets to ensure seamless project management from start to finish, specifically in regard to quoting and estimating projects and managing timelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints and project specifications to determine material and labor requirements
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for structured cabling systems, including voice, data, and camera installations
- Develop project timelines for projects across Virginia and North Carolina
- Coordinate with sales teams to support bid preparations and project proposals
- Monitor project costs to ensure alignment with initial estimates
- Maintain accurate documentation of all estimates and project calculations
- Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure estimate accuracy
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with office accountant to ensure inventory control
- Place orders for time and material jobs and pull product to give to technicians
- Return product from technicians back to inventory
