The Community Outreach and Engagement Specialist plays a pivotal role in connecting our agency with the community we serve and advancing our mission to support and empower individuals and communities in need. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills, a passion for social services, and the ability to engage diverse communities effectively. The specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders, including community leaders, organizations, and individuals, to promote awareness of our Prevention and Aftercare (P&A) services and facilitate access to resources.

Key Responsibilities
- Participate in outreach activities and events, including resource fairs, community events, and network meetings, promoting P&A services and representing The Help Group agency.
- Create and maintain collaborative partnerships with community organizations and agencies in SPA 2 and SPA 5.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage diverse communities, including marginalized populations, to increase awareness of available social services.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, schools, religious institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance outreach efforts and maximize resources.
- Scout and secure locations for program events in the SPA 2 and SPA 5 communities.
- Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and forums to promote our services, educate the community, and address relevant social issues.
- Conduct outreach activities both in-person and through digital platforms, including social media, email campaigns, and virtual events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of outreach efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
- Provide support and resources to individuals seeking assistance, including referrals to appropriate services
- Collect and analyze data on outreach activities, community demographics, and needs to inform future strategies and initiatives.
- Develop culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate materials and communications to effectively reach diverse communities and assist with the development of marketing materials for programs.
- Represent the organization at community meetings, conferences, and networking events to build relationships and stay informed about community needs and trends.
- Collaborate with agency and community partners to promote social media presence and maintain database of partner agencies, including contacts, locations, and venue information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, public health, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in community outreach, engagement, or social services, preferably in a non-profit or government agency.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of community resources, social service systems, and relevant policies.
- Experience in event planning, public speaking, and networking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Bilingual or multilingual proficiency preferred.

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of The Help Group. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, professional and academic experience, certification, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
