This program offers an enriched curriculum that also includes vocational assessments, career awareness and exploration, pre-employment skills training and work experiences to adults with disabilities.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- B.A. degree required; bilingual Spanish Speakers strongly encouraged to apply.
- California Basic Educational Skills test (CBEST) passed
- Education and experience in mental health, social services, business or related field.
- Two years continuous work experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges.
- Must be able to work Monday- Friday 9:00AM-5:30PM.
- Must be approved to drive agency vehicles and have a clean DMV report. Job development experience is preferred.
- Ability to attend meetings in the Sherman Oaks office as needed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide supervision of students during various activities at school in the community, on public transit and on job sites.
- Help interns maintain placement by providing daily job coaching and vocational skills development.
- Under supervision of the Teacher Specialist and Career Counselor, maintain effective job coaching methods and vocational skills development.
- Take initiative to prepare or secure necessary daily instructional materials.
- Have and employ a working knowledge of each student’s Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.).
- Have an awareness of and adhere to job site safety procedures.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with agency staff and community business personnel.
- Act as liaison between outside agencies and school. Promote and maintain good relationships with all concerned parties.
- Perform only direct student service activities during the school day.
- Collect and record student progress data. Utilize appropriate evaluation to provide feedback to student and progress of student to staff.
- Use appropriate documentation and data collection to track student progress and ensure protection of students' rights.
- Maintain client information in a confidential manner

Salary Rate: $ 19.00 - $20.00
