We are currently seeking teachers experienced in Special Education for our specialized day schools across our 4 Los Angeles campuses. We look for candidates who specialize in specific subjects and those can teach across multiple subjects. To attract top talent, we offer competitive sign-on bonuses for credentialed Teachers:
- $10,000 for Moderate/Severe credentialed Teachers
- $7,500 for Mild/Moderate credentialed Teachers or Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
- $3,500 for PIP/STSP/Intern eligible Teachers (CBEST required)
Position Details:
- Full-Time
- Locations: Culver City, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, Valley Glen
- Grade Levels: Pre-School through Vocational (ages 22 years)
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and implement individual student programs.
- Select appropriate curriculum content for each student.
- Determine appropriate, measurable goals and objectives for each student.
- Implement positive behavior techniques effectively as necessary.
- Write individual education plans (IEPs) and participate in IEP meetings.
- Employ a trans-disciplinary approach to education, conferring with team members as appropriate for particular issues.
- Prepare or secure necessary instructional materials.
- Modify activities and adapt materials to promote student success.
- Design and use instructional grouping patterns that are varied and flexible, including individual, small group, and whole class instruction.
- Employ clear, predictable daily and weekly schedules, which accommodate students' needs.
- Prepare a weekly plan book to detail lesson plans, grouping, activities, staff assignments, and other relevant information.
- Employ appropriate, individualized teaching and reinforcement techniques to maximize student achievement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Education or a related field is required.
- Special Education credential is preferred; or the ability to qualify for an Intern Credential Provisional Internship Permit or Short-Term Staff Permit.
- Experience teaching students with autism, learning disabilities and/or emotional challenges is preferred.
- Strong background managing behavior issues utilizing a positive, strength-based approach.

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of The Help Group. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, professional and academic experience, certification, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
