Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT support specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our customers, ensuring that all IT infrastructure operates smoothly. This role requires a strong understanding of desktop support, LAN environments, and various operating systems, including Windows and Mac OS. Some work will be projects on-site throughout Maryland. Working onsite at customer locations and in the office located on Kent Island, MD. Duties
- You will need to bend, stoop, crawl, climb ladders some days. Other days will be stting at a desk.
- Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist users with VPN connectivity and remote access solutions.
- Manage help desk requests through a ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Maintain and support IT infrastructure components such as servers, network devices, and peripherals.
- Conduct regular maintenance on systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Document technical procedures and user guides for future reference.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies and improve existing systems.
- Provide training and support to end-users on various applications and tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience in desktop support within an office environment.
- Strong knowledge of LAN configurations and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure management practices.
- Proficient in providing technical support for Windows operating systems; experience with Mac OS is a plus.
- Experience with VPN technologies and remote access solutions.
- Familiarity with help desk software such as Remedy or similar platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively assist users at all levels.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
