JOB SUMMARY
The Restorative Culture Facilitator implements and oversees restorative practices and other school culture structures at New Village Academy. Works collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, and families to create a positive school community that values student voice, trusting relationships, accountability, repair, and reconciliation. Facilitates restorative circles, conflict mediation, student-led restorative circles, and other restorative structures. Collaborates with other staff to build social-emotional-learning (SEL) programming including mindfulness, challenge by choice, and character development. Facilitates the building of strong relationships, development of student personal and interpersonal skills, addressing disciplinary issues in inclusive, just, and equitable ways, affirming our Core Values and Schoolwide Norms, and promoting a harmonious, student-centered, and accountable school culture. Serves on the School Leadership Team and as an advisor to a "Crew" of 14 students, facilitating academic and personal growth activities and overseeing their academic progress until graduation. May occasionally attend evening or afterschool events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, implements, and maintains a comprehensive restorative culture program at New Village Academy.
- Facilitates restorative circles, conflict mediations (using VOMP protocol), and conferences to address conflicts, disciplinary issues, and community-building opportunities.
- Provides training and support to staff, students, and parents on restorative practices principles and techniques.
- Works closely with Principal, teachers and other staff to develop policies and procedures that align with restorative practices.
- Manages the Peace Room, our student cool-down and conferencing space.
- Serves as Crew Leader (advisor) to 14 students (45 minutes per day), building community, supporting academic progress, and serving as primary family contact for these students over all 4 years of high school.
- Plans and leads bi-weekly schoolwide “Pick-Me-Up” gatherings of whole school or paired grades to uplift students, build a school spirit, and celebrate successes.
- Consistently records, tracks, and implements school-wide student accountability systems and other agreements students make with the staff and school leadership and contribute pertinent information for student suspension/appeal hearings as needed.
- Builds and maintains relationships with community organizations and resources to support restorative culture initiatives.
- Manages and supports student arrival, dismissal, lunch, and schoolwide events to foster a strong school culture.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
- Associate's Degree in education, guidance and counseling, youth development, social work or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university required;
- Bachelor's Degree in education, guidance and counseling, youth development, social work or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university preferred;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Experience
- One (1) year experience in education, social work, youth development, counseling, or a related field, with a focus on restorative practices, conflict resolution, student-centered learning, or positive discipline required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Language Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish native or near native preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
- Hold or be eligible for Driver's License (DL) Class C Non-Commercial issued by Maryland or State of Legal Residence (MVA/DMV) required; and
- Daily access to reliable transportation.
