Position Overview:
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will diagnose and treat mental health conditions for our growing behavioral health and addiction recovery outpatient practice. You will be both a mental health practitioner and an educator, supporting prevention and management practices and helping adolescents learn the skills they need to lead healthy lives.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate/examine patients and their medical records
- Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, urine drug screens, etc.)
- Diagnose mental health conditions and addictions
- Develop treatment plans
- Prescribe medications
- Maintain records and schedules
- Educate patients and their family members
- Promote good health practices
Skills:
- Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong ethics
- Collaborative spirit and a desire to help others
- Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
- Valid nurse practitioner license
- Master's Degree
