Job Overview
The Program Director is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the program. This includes workforce development, such as job opportunity procurement, coaching, and overseeing the training and work of three coaches for up to 40 youth in 2025 over a span of 10 months. The Program Director also plans the life skills curriculum and books presenters, executes substance use prevention strategies, and manages all aspects of the program, including background checks, legal matters, public relations, budget management, program reports, partnerships, fundraising, and future sustainability. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Duties
· Hire and direct three Employment Success Coaches, and up to 40 youth participants.
· Develop and implement program strategies to promote workforce development, life skills development, and substance use prevention.
· Conduct background checks and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
· Coordinate with the public relations manager to ensure that the program and all its initiatives have on-going exposure on social media, print, radio and television.
· Develop and manage the program budget, fundraising and ensure financial sustainability.
· Prepare and submit program reports to stake holders and funding agencies.
· Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders.
· Provide ongoing support and guidance to Employment Success Coaches and youth participants.
· Foster a collaborative and high-quality team environment, ensuring that all team members are working effectively together.
· Ensure transportation needs of youth participants are met so they can attend program activities.
· Work closely with parents and school officials to support the youth participants' development and success.
· Oversee the planning and organization of trips and celebrations to enhance the program experience and reward participants for their achievements.
· Must have car, a computer and a cell phone.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in a related field or lived experience (e.g., Education, Counseling, Social Work, Public Administration).
· Previous experience in program management, youth development, or workforce development desired. Familiarity with grants and grant management is a positive.
· Strong leadership and organizational skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking.
· Knowledge of substance use prevention strategies and resources.
· Ability to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.
· Experience in budget management and financial planning.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the program and participants.
