What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Electronics Technician position at New World Electronics?
Duties include mounting equipment in desired locations, terminating and commissioning either at the shipyard or the office. Technicians will be expected to take calls to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues on various types of marine electronics equipment. The service calls could be local or out of town. Weekly out of town installs are also required often. Employees must have their own tools, reliable transportation, and PPE. Once a technician has passed background check, monthly drug screens, and qualified for permanent employment, they will be provided with a company vehicle and gas card. Must be able to perform heavy lifting. Must have current Marine Operator Permit, and GROL FCC license. Must have either current GMDSS Operator/Maintainer license or acquire license within 30 days of hire date. Drug free workplace. Clean driving record required to operate company vehicle. EOE
