JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processing including the following duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide back-up to the AR and AP specialists on all clerical functions, as needed
- Assist in the month-end closing procedures to meet monthly deadlines
- Perform research and coordination of special projects in the department as assigned
Accounts Receivable
- Process high-volume daily check deposits
- Post ACH and wire transfer payments from daily banking reports
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies
- Monitor A/R Aging reports and days sales outstanding (DSO) metrics
- Process customer’s credit card payments
- Obtain and email invoice copies/statements for customers
- Call, fax, email and/or mail correspondence to customers as necessary to collect unpaid customer invoices in a timely manner
Accounts Payable
- Work with the purchasing team and our suppliers to ensure 3-way match of purchase orders
- Monitor AP inbox and enter invoices for payment
- Process expense reports and resolve discrepancies with employees as necessary
- Assist with new supplier setups including requesting documents from suppliers
- Assist in monthly close processes including necessary AP accruals
- Year-end filing preparation (i.e. 1099s, Sunshine Act reporting)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Intermediate skill level in Excel
- Must be detailed and organized
- Basic knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Able to work independently
- Be a strong team player and able to work with various teams
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting or Finance)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office and travel to and from office buildings to access file cabinets, employee offices, office machinery, etc. This may include, but is not limited to, bending and walking.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer printer, computer keyboard, calculator, etc.
- Ability to listen and speak with employees and vendors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and transport to other offices. This may be performed with reasonable accommodation.
- View and type on computer screens for long periods of time.
