Junior Sailing Program Instructor - Seasonal
About the New York Athletic Club and the Junior Sailing Program : The New York Athletic Club, one of the world's premier clubs, is seeking a Junior Sailing instructor at the Travers Island property located in Pelham, NY. The candidate for this position will be a part of the Junior Sailing Program team and will instruct and care for their assigned group.
The Junior Sailing Program is the perfect place for children at the New York Athletic Club - Travers Island to learn and develop sailing skills. Children range from ages 6 to 15 years old. Buses come from all over New York City and Pelham to bring children to our program. The children have a range of skills and we aim to accommodate any type of sailor.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Teach and improve the sailing skills of children anywhere from 6 to 15 years old
- Create a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment for sailors
- Enforce safety rules and regulations of the New York Athletic Club
- Be able to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, sailors, and parents / guardians
- Be flexible to meet changing work needs and demands
- Attend pre-program prep week in June 2025
