The Assistant Director of Nursing is an innovative nursing leader and professional role model that
promotes New York Cancer and Blood Specialist, NY Health, and NY Breast Health’s safety and
quality standards. Leads, oversees, mentors and coordinates clinical team members including RNs,
LPN’s, Medical Assistants, Chemotherapy Technicians and other healthcare providers as needed.
Creates an environment that fosters a team approach to providing efficient, timely and
knowledgeable patient-centered care ensuring patient satisfaction in every interaction.
In this role you will:
● Assume accountability for all NYCBS nursing related activities.
● Schedule and accomplish regular site visits to all regional assigned locations at least once per month
● Facilitate and document regular follow ups with regional assigned Head Nurses
● Encourage, mentor, and support organizational and personal professional development goals for clinical team members
● Assist in developing staffing models that provide for quality care
● Engage in recruiting efforts including identifying staffing needs, pre-screening, interviewing and reference communication
● Organize and communicate new team members orientation plans
● Monitor & track competency and training completion for assigned team members
● Actively participate in the development, review, modification and implementation of organizational policy and procedure
● Coordinate for all after-action plans following any and all treatment event(s) identified within assigned region
● Counsel team members and providers written follow up and recommendations for further progressive growth planning
● Review attendance records & payroll hours submission through practice management system for assigned team members
● Ensures divisional fiscal responsibility, ensuring budgetary maintenance
● Other duties as assigned
We require:
● A License as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
● A Master's or Bachelor’s Degree in Administration/Registered Nursing Degree.
● At least two years of experience in a similar advanced administrative role.
● At least two years of experience working as a Registered Nurse.
● Communication skills that are effective across all disciplines.
● At least two years of oncology experience with chemotherapy and/or infusion procedural areas and/or demonstrates equivalent expertise, OCN (Certified Oncology Nurse) preferred.
● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
● Exceptional computer skills, Word/Excel.
● Problem solving and time management skills.
● The ability to work in a fast paced environment.
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
● Prolonged periods of standing, bending and reaching.
● Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids.
● Must be able to travel as needed to assigned sites
Salary up to $140,000 annually commensurate with education and experience. Benefits
include Tuition Reimbursement, Health Insurance on day 1 of employment, Dental, Vision,
