JOB SUMMARY
A Relationship Manager possesses the knowledge and experience to proactively develop, retain and expand the deposit relationships of borrowing clients and on-board new deposit relationships, and related cash management and business services required in connection with Commercial Real Estate and Multi-Family loan transactions. Provides premier service to clients and seeks additional deposits beyond what is required for a loan transaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for achieving business goals, including: developing new deposit relationships, and increasing core deposits.
- Calls on existing clients with the framework of business development call program.
- Meets with new prospects to discuss their needs, outlines appropriate company services and resolves problems as necessary.
- Documents calls and results and reports finding to Management.
- Conducts joint calls with team on high potential and targeted prospect clients.
- Identifies opportunities to increase and retain deposits, retain renewing loans as well as new financing opportunities
- Compiles and analyzes statistics pertinent to the company's business development programs and makes recommendations or suggestions on obtaining new business and growing core deposits.
- Serves as business and professional subject expert with regard to product information and dissemination of such.
- Solicits new deposit accounts from current clients and borrowers of the bank.
- Travels to clients for deposit account, cash management, other business services openings and deposit pick-up as necessary.
- Visits potential clients on site as necessary.
- Responsible for coordination with Commercial Lending Department regarding required deposit accounts, including maintenance of spreadsheet to report success of opening account or lack of to appropriate Loan Officer and Processor.
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years' customer service/sales experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Comprehensive knowledge of business deposit products and cash management services.
- Excellent customer service, communication and sales skills.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to establish rapport with customers.
- Ability to travel to customer locations as needed.
