What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist/Clerical position at New York GI Center?
Handle a high volume of phone calls, emails and faxes.
Prepares admission folders by gathering admission paperwork for scheduled patients. Including but not limited to current H& P and Covid Results
Scan all documents into Provation MD, including but not limited to clearances, H&P, Covid results and receipts
Greets patients to be admitted by conducting personal interviews; entering demographic and insurance information; confirming pre-admission information; obtaining signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
Admit patients by reviewing and confirming all information in Vision is accurate, make any necessary changes to demographic and insurance info
Verifies patient identity by checking identification; preparing and printing demographics and patient identification band.
Collect patient balances and apply to patient accounts in Vision. Record payment in receipt book and scan into Provation MD
Provides patients with all required paperwork, explain surgical center admission policies, answering inquiries.
Update patient flow manager continually throughout the day
Discharges patients from facility, assures proper discharge policy is followed.
Calls to confirm patient’s appointments and financial obligation 3 days prior procedure date.
Record temperature and keep logs for patients, staff and visitors at front door
Maintain cancelation logs
Fill in for scheduler as needed
Keep the work area as well as common area’s clean and organized
Assist with inventory as needed
Serves and protects the surgical center community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and AAAHC standards.
