For over fifty years, New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) has honored its founder Arthur Ashe’s legacy by celebrating the diversity of children, encouraging them to reach their highest potential through free tennis and academic programs. NYJTL is the largest provider of youth tennis and education programs in the nation, providing services in 100 unique sites across all five boroughs while reaching nearly 90,000 kids. In addition, NYJTL designed, funded (with NYC), built and operates the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in the South Bronx. All NYJTL community tennis and after school programs are offered at no cost to its participants.

Position Summary
The Program Manager (Data) supports NYJTL’s programs with a primary focus on DYCD-centric ACES programs and administrative departments with fact-based information for strategic decision making. Reporting to the CFO, this individual will aggregate various data such as enrollment, attendance, participants, supplies utilization, etc., across the agency, then organize and translate it for qualitative evaluation. This position is ideally suited for analytical, detail-oriented, and people-friendly individuals who are tech-savvy and passionate about using data to drive program success and learning. The role also suits those who are comfortable with public speaking and engaging with diverse audiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Train programmatic staff on the types, specificity, regularity, and methods of data collection
- Conduct basic data collection, research and analysis in support of the agency’s internal program and administrative departments
- Quantitatively and qualitatively analyze and interpret data, creating reports to assess the impact/results of various programs, personnel, and clients served
- Create and maintain visualization dashboards and/or fact sheets on key performance metrics (attendance, participants, demographics, etc.)
- Assess data capture and retention procedures geared toward DYCD compliance, evaluation, and quality control requirements
- Design surveys across the agency; collate responses; present summaries
- Present findings and trends gathered from community-based peer organizations
- Create databases or similar technologies to store and share data in a secure format
- Assist the CFO with integrating program data into financial analyses and projections
- Participate in special initiatives or projects (e.g., RFPs, budgets) as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years’ professional experience, preferably in a school-based program environment
- Background in research, operations, statistical analysis, or marketing/advertising helpful
- Broad familiarity with DYCD afterschool program requirements and standards
- Experience building and maintaining data visualization dashboards for diverse audiences
- Well-organized and detail oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Expertise in MS Excel and familiarity with database software (MS Access, Tableau, etc.
- Tech savviness and hands-on approach to work execution
- Comfortable using social media and other online platforms/tools (e.g., Asana, Classy)
- Ability to work independently in identifying and resolving issues, concerns and problems
- Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills
- Commitment to community service, youth development, education; interest in tennis a plus
