Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and personable individual to serve as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist. This dual role offers the opportunity to interact directly with patients while supporting the practice's administrative and clinical needs. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
As a Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care tasks, including rooming patients, recording vital signs, and updating medical histories.
- Assist provider(s) during procedures.
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness for procedures.
- Assist with clinical tasks.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and restock as needed.
- Provide support with patient follow-ups and record management.
As a Medical Receptionist Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar effectively.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Handle incoming calls and respond to inquiries regarding services and procedures.
- Process patient information, including insurance details, accurately.
- Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate efficient patient flow.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Provide support for patients in various departments, including dermatology and geriatrics.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain a clean, organized reception area.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical administrative support role is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Basic life support certification is desirable.
- Proficient in using medical systems for scheduling and record management.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Attributes: Friendly demeanor, team-oriented, and a willingness to adapt to a variety of tasks.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: Prior experience as a receptionist or medical assistant in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
