Job Title: Constituent Liaison
Location: Office of Assemblyman Aron Wieder, 97th District
Reports To: Chief of Staff
Position Overview:
The Constituent Liaison serves as a direct connection between the Assemblyman’s office and the residents of the 97th District. This role focuses on assisting constituents with concerns related to state agencies, advocating on their behalf, and ensuring their needs are addressed efficiently. A strong understanding of the local community, particularly the Irish-American population, is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Constituent Assistance: Address inquiries and concerns from residents, provide information on state programs and services, and assist with case resolution.
- Case Management: Work with state agencies to advocate for constituents, track case progress, and follow up to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
- Community Engagement: Build relationships with local organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to stay informed on district needs and concerns.
- Cultural & Community Familiarity: A deep understanding of Irish-American traditions, history, and key issues affecting the community is an asset in this role.
- Communication & Correspondence: Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person visits from constituents, documenting interactions and maintaining case records.
- Event & Outreach Support: Assist in organizing and attending community events, public meetings, and town halls to strengthen constituent relationships.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate records, draft reports, and support general office operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for community service.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Familiarity with state government services and agencies is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Irish-American culture, community concerns, and advocacy is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software is a plus.
Compensation & Work Environment:
- Salary based on experience.
- Full-time position based in the Assemblyman’s district office.
- Occasional evening and weekend events may be required.
